T'was the Day before Christmas, and all through the walls
Our upstair neighbors were thumping up and down the halls
I turned to my husband and snuggled him close,
"It's Christmas Eve," he said. "That, I think everyone knows."
I teased crinkling my nose. So much to do! So much to say!
Some things we need to get before Christmas day...
So off to the craziest place of them all...
With Santa, hot cocoa, all of course at the mall!
We donned on our coats... and they were quickly removed.
Despite the rain, and the grey skies, the heat once again proved
This Christmas was different from all of the rest
Still I couldn't help feeling totally blessed!
We hoped - no we prayed we would get all we need
And come home, of course, knowing we'd succeed.
With everything gross and muddy outside,
I wondered what to do with my hair, or just hide...
I hugged my hubby and he pulled me in tight...
Let's make today special... and let's do it right...
He nodded and smiled, then said, "Go Away!
I have presents to wrap before the end of the day!"
So this is the second time I'm writing this entry, as there was a glitch and I lost everything... including the original poem... so I had to make up a new one just now. *sigh* These holidays!
I have really nothing to complain about though... These last two weeks have been my happiest in what feels like an eternity (really only a few months).
I started an amazing new job that I am so excited and so happy about.
Even though it feels a little intimidating at first... I'm beginning to realize that no matter what everyone here has my back. It's been a long time since I felt that way.
I love my school, my coworkers, my administration, and my students. I'm so freaking happy.
This is going to be one of the best ways to start my new year and what an amazing way to start it -- at a job I am so happy to be a part of!
Took a picture of myself on my first day
That's not all the good news either! Two days ago we got our sweet little Hyundai Tucson back looking gorgeous and just like new! $500 worth spending on our little Sweet Mobile.
Gorgeous gifts from our friends, Frank + Susan
Yesterday was a half day and we spent it with some awesome friends.
We came home to an awesome and beautiful gift from our wonderful friends Diane and Co at Dee Kay Events, the incredible wedding planners. We're so blessed to have such amazing people in our lives.
Then Mom invited Shawn and I over to bake some cookies-- but not just ANY cookies! 3D cookies! They're awesome and so fun!
Today... after I finally shower... we're going to go back to our amazing traditions.
Shawn and I will be spending time with our family, going to mass and to one of our favorite restaurants... It's one of my favorite traditions that we do together.
I better run and shower before Shawn gets even more grumpy that I haven't yet....
We gotta go wrap all those presents just right!
Merry Christmas to all and to all a Good Night!
Love,
Mrs Caple
